Poor exercise response in heart failure patients, University of Birmingham research reveals

Heart failure patients with a normal left ventricular ejection fraction have an impaired heart rate response to exercise compared with healthy individuals.

These patients also have abnormal heart rate recovery after they’ve finished exercising, Thanh Phan, MBChB, of the University of Birmingham, reported at the American Heart Association meeting. The results were published simultaneously online in Circulation: Heart Failure.
