Rheumatology: hormone replacement in joint fluid regenerative

Hormone replacement with testosterone in men and oestrogen in women appears to have a positive effect on the regenerative potential of cartilage tissue, according to a study published in the recent issue of Arthritis & Rheumatism.

The study suggests that hormone treatment in joint fluid might help late-stage osteoarthritis by regenerating damaged tissue.
