Mother accuses surgeon of ‘sexism’ after letter praising husband for ‘manfully stepping in’

A mother has been left outraged after a ‘sexist’ surgeon said her husband had ‘manfully’ stepped in to take their daughter to a hospital appointment when she was ill.

Jo and Billy Martin, of Chorley, Lancashire, were sent a letter with the ‘sexist remarks’ two weeks after Mr Martin took three-year-old Jessica for an appointment at Royal Preston Hospital.

In the letter, the paediatric surgeon wrote: ‘Unfortunately her mum could not be at the clinic visit today as she has not been well and father stepped in manfully.’

The couple were so shocked they shared the letter on social media and claimed they could not imagine him using ‘womanfully’ in the same context.

    Well, it used to be said that the ‘fairer’ sex were the ‘weaker’ sex and more ‘sensitive’than mere men!

    How’s that for being ‘sexist’? But that’s how it WAS in the ‘good (?) old days’.
